For Raised Beds

For Raised Beds

For raised beds, screw piles are a great way to avoid digging. Screw-in piles make it easy to install a stable base anywhere—even in clay or damp soil.

Save your time and money.

Screw piles are a simple, effective way to build foundations. Screw-in foundations work just like concrete ones, but outperform them in many ways. With screw piles, you’ll quickly and easily install a solid base and can start building right away.

Screw piles are a great solution for homesteads, outdoor terraces, cabins, greenhouses, kennels, garages, carports, and other structures like flag mounts, temporary barriers, or fences. We offer a range of screw-in piles in different types and sizes to meet the requirements of any building project, anywhere. Frequently asked questions

How Do I Fix the Frame to a Screw Pile?

Screw piles can be installed with an impact driver or bolts

If conditions allow, you can shift the pile slightly to the side or break/shift the rock using a rotary hammer bit.

The fastest way to install screw foundations is with dedicated pile-driving equipment. Pre-drilling the soil with a thin bit or a 25 mm rotary hammer bit helps a lot before screwing the pile into the ground. It sets the right direction, so as you screw the pile, the shaft and thread can brace against the sides when the tip doesn’t yet bite into the soil.

Screw piles reliably handle a vertical load of 400–800 kg.

Typically, screw piles last 25–30 years, but in favorable conditions they can last up to 50 years.
It depends on the soil and the installer. Typically, you can install 20–25 piles in half a day.

Screw piles resist sinking thanks to their helical threads, and the vertical load is distributed across three layers—the lower and upper frame and the boards mounted on top.

Always consider what you’re screwing into—the weaker the soil, the higher the risk of settlement. If the terrace isn’t elevated, shorter piles will do. But if the soil is loose (for example, fill, sand, or gravel), choose longer ones, starting from 1085 mm.

We’re terrace professionals and have worked on many projects. We haven’t encountered heaved foundations—either concrete or screw piles—due to frost when they’re installed correctly: taking into account soil properties, height above ground (to the structure), and loads. The best approach is practical experience, local weather statistics from recent years, and LRS STR guidelines, which state: for light structures, install foundation depth at 800–1200 mm.

Yes! One of the main advantages of installing screw foundations or building a terrace base on screw piles is that you can continue construction the same day without waiting—unlike concrete foundations, especially in cold seasons when curing takes much longer and delays the project schedule.

Installing screw foundations takes much less time compared to traditional concrete foundations. For example, for an outdoor terrace, it only takes a few hours to screw in the piles, and then you can start assembling the frame. Plus, there’s no need for extra excavation, soil reinforcement, or waiting for concrete to cure. You save time—and money. That’s why screw foundations are often the cheaper, more optimal solution.

Screw foundations can be used in many construction projects:

  • building a terrace,
  • a sauna,
  • a shed,
  • a small cabin,
  • a garage,
  • fences and enclosures,
  • wood stores,
  • greenhouses,
  • raised beds,
  • piers,
  • docks,
  • playgrounds, and many more small architectural structures.
